Theo Von Floored By Intense Secret Service Process For Trump Interview: ‘People Patting You Down, People Patting You Up!’

Comedian Theo Von detailed just how extensive the Secret Service presence was when he recently interviewed Donald Trump for his podcast.

Von recently went to Trump National Golf Club Bedminster for an episode of his podcast This Past Weekend. As is the case with the comedian, their conversation took a number of bizarre and unexpected turns. At one point, Von taught the former president about the effects of cocaine addiction.

On Tuesday’s episode of This Past Weekend, Von described how it all went down behind the scenes. When he first got to the golf club, security was understandably strict.

“There’s like a lot of Secret Service getting into — it was at Bedminster Golf Course — so there was a lot of getting in there,” Von said. “So, you gotta stop here, and this guy kinda touched your pockets or whatever, and this guy… Somebody’s reading your ribs or whatever. They got a mystic out there reading your ribs. They got people patting you down, people patting you up. One dude’s patting you up. I was like, ‘Oh, this guy obviously doesn’t have a wife.’

“There’s a couple locations. You gotta stop and get frisked and patted and ‘wanded’ and ‘wizarded.’ They just ask you the craziest questions. They’ll be like, ‘What’s your middle name?’ and then they’ll be like, ‘Does your mother fuck a lot?’ and you’re like, ‘What?’ But they’re trying to see where you’re and see if you know anybody from Russia or whatever.”

Those familiar with Von’s style of comedy will quickly identify that there’s likely a great deal of exaggeration in his words. Still, it gets the point across that gaining that kind of access to Trump is an extremely intense ordeal.
