President-elect Donald Trump nominated Aaron Reitz to lead the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Policy for his incoming administration next month.
Trump announced a series of nominations via Truth Social on Saturday afternoon for offices that will focus on implementing policy for the new administration. Recently, Trump has faced pushback from lawmakers and media pundits over his nomination of Kash Patel to lead the FBI.
However, on Saturday Trump picked Reitz, the current chief of staff to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), to lead the top legal policy office in the DOJ. The president-elect noted that Reitz has also helped Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in dozens of lawsuits against the “crooked Biden Administration.”
“I am pleased to nominate Aaron Reitz to serve as the next Head of the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Policy (OLP),” Trump told his followers on Truth Social. “Aaron will lead OLP to develop and implement DOJ’s battle plans to advance my Law and Order Agenda, and restore integrity to our Justice System. He will be working with Attorney General Nominee, Pam Bondi.”

He added, “Aaron is currently Senator Ted Cruz’s Chief of Staff, and was previously Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s Deputy, where he led dozens of successful lawsuits against the lawless and crooked Biden Administration. Aaron is a true MAGA attorney, a warrior for our Constitution, and will do an outstanding job at DOJ. Congratulations Aaron!”
