Ron Johnson Says Biden Trying to ‘Sabotage’ Trump With Massive Payouts Like Student Loan Plan
Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) said President Joe Biden and his Democratic administration are trying to “shovel money out the door and sabotage the Trump administration” with massive debts such as student loan forgiveness before leaving office.
During a Saturday morning interview with Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo, the Wisconsin lawmaker took a jab at the White House for trying to push through controversial policies before Trump takes over next month.
Recently, the Biden administration announced it is rolling out an additional $4 billion in student loan forgiveness that would provide 55,000 public workers with debt relief.
Johnson reacted to Biden’s decision by claiming Republicans cannot rely on Democrats to “repair the damage they did over the last four years.”
BARTIROMO: He’s doing a lot of things as he walks out the door, and yet he’s nowhere to be found on these important spending issues.
JOHNSON: Well, it sure, sure seems like his administration I’m not sure it’s him. I’m not sure he has the cognitive ability to do this, but it certainly seems his his henchmen are doing everything they can to shovel money out the door and sabotage the Trump administration, the incoming one. Yeah, That’s why I say we cannot rely on good faith on the part of Democrats to try and repair the damage they did over the last four years. So this is something we need strategies, which is why we wrote that letter. We didn’t write that letter to, you know, put a stake in the ground. We wrote that letter to let leadership say that we’re going to be supportive of this approach, laying it all out, you know, come talk to us. It’s by the way, I think it’s the approach it leader Thune wants you to enact. You know, people within the administration, I don’t want to name names are also supported that approach.
