Tom Homan Predicts on Fox News ‘They Are Going To Find a Connection’ Between New Year’s Attacks: ‘Gut Feeling I Have’

President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming Border Czar Tom Homan predicted authorities are “going to find a connection” between the Las Vegas and New Orleans attacks on New Year’s Day.

Homan joined Fox News’s Sandra Smith on America Reports on Thursday and reacted to the latest out of press conferences from both New Orleans and Vegas. More than a dozen were killed and dozens more injured after a man drove his car into a crowd, and another suspect filled a Tesla Cybertruck full of explosives outside of Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. No one was killed in the Vegas blast except for the driver of the vehicle. Seven were injured.

Police said they have found no connection between the two cases. Vegas police are still looking at motives for the man behind the explosives, while the New Orleans suspect (killed after exchanging gunfire with police) had openly sympathized with ISIS.

Homan predicted a connection between the cases even after police noted they’d found none.

“I think the further the investigation goes, I think they’re going to find a connection between the two incidents, but look, they are both suicide events,” Homan said. “The man in New Orleans certainly had no plans of going home after getting out and trading gunfire with law enforcement. I think both of these guys realized they weren’t going home after this event. But the threats aren’t over.”

The incoming border czar then noted there are millions of illegal migrants currently not in custody and not being tracked as he discussed other pressing threats for the country. Both the Vegas and New Orleans suspects were born in the United States (Colorado and Texas) and were Army veterans.

At the end of their interview, Smith asked Homan again why he was so confident about a connection where there is no proof of one, and Homan chalked it up to a “gut feeling.”

“Do you have any other information or are you privy to any other information other than what we just directly heard from the police there in Las Vegas?” Smith asked.

“No, I don’t. This is a gut feeling. I have done this for three and a half decades,” Homan said. “I just think there are too many similarities, too much coincidence, I think somewhere down the road they’re going to show some sort of connection whether it’s some same network or where they got the tools to pull these terrorist attacks off, I just feel like there’s going to be something down the road. And I could be wrong. This is a gut feeling I have.”
