Comic, pundit, and podcast host Bill Maher couldn’t suppress his shock that “world-class piece of ass” Jane Fonda came from such un-hot parents.
Fonda was the guest on this week’s edition of Maher’s Club Random Podcast. during which the duo kicked things off with a little libation: some of Kendall Jenner’s tequila.
This somehow led to Maher observing that Fonda is super-hot despite her parents, which Fonda protested, and Maher doubled down on:
BILL MAHER: Amazing Barbarella still. It’s like something that, you know.JANE FONDA: That the cat dragged in.BILL MAHER: Yeah. Well, the fact that.JANE FONDA: It’s hard for me to believe that I ever made that movie.BILL MAHER: It’s hard–. It is amazing the way you almost are a microcosm of the country as it moved from decade to decade.I mean, all the things you are. I mean, cultural icon, of course, someone who affected the culture, you know, great performer, you know, your job. You were always amazing.I mean, and just world-class piece of ass, as I hope that’s not speaking out of school.JANE FONDA: Thank you.BILL MAHER: You know, great looking then kept your looks. I mean, that’s rare.JANE FONDA: Yeah.BILL MAHER: Yeah. But you. You were genetically blessed, which is, you know, when I watched the documentary, it didn’t seem
like your mother was a great beauty. Your father’s got a nice look. Midwestern look. But he wasn’t like Cary Grant or. Or, you know, Clark Gable. He was nice looking, but like.JANE FONDA: Oh there were periods of his life when he was so handsome! Oh my God.BILL MAHER: Really?JANE FONDA: Right. Yeah.BILL MAHER: It just seems like you’re much better looking than your parents.JANE FONDA: And my mother was also a great beauty in her heyday.BILL MAHER: She WAS?JANE FONDA: Yeah.BILL MAHER: Huh.And then just my father wrote in his autobiography that men were drawn to her like moths to a flame. She was extremely beautiful. I don’t look anything like her.BILL MAHER: Really? I mean, that does not come across in the documentary. I mean, she looks nice, but I mean, of course, a lot of it was showing her when she was sad.JANE FONDA: Yeah. Yeah.BILL MAHER: I mean, that’s a great theme that runs through it.JANE FONDA: She was sad all all her all her life.
