Fox Sports radio host and college basketball coach Doug Gottlieb lost to a Division II team Wednesday that he called “Nobody U.”

In May, Gottlieb was given his first collegiate coaching job when he was named the head coach of the University of Wisconsin Green Bay men’s basketball team. The university agreed to a unique arrangement, allowing Gottlieb to maintain his radio responsibilities while also being the coach.

So far, the experiment has left a lot to be desired. Heading into Wednesday’s game against Michigan Tech, the team was just 2-10. The season has been such a disaster that Gottlieb even got a ribbing from top ESPN insider Adam Schefter.

Gottlieb, however, expected those fortunes to turn around Wednesday. During a press conference before the game, Gottlieb referred to Michigan Tech as “Nobody U” and lamented the fact that UWGB, a Division I school, was forced to play a Division II team. Gottlieb even predicted a 20-point blowout.

“Part of the reason I wanna play better teams is like — it’s two degrees outside and snowing,” Gottlieb said. “I don’t really like the idea of Nobody U coming in here and like — I always say, ‘What do we learn playing a game where we win by 20?’ But there’s a methodology to it, and I’m gonna have to adjust moving forward.”

As many on social media were eager to point out, Gottlieb’s team lost to Michigan Tech 72-70.
