Sports radio host and lifelong Bob Dylan fan Chris “Mad Dog” Russo revealed Wednesday that he was invited to the London premiere of the film A Complete Unknown by actor Timothee Chalamet himself.
In the weeks leading up to the premiere of the biopic, Russo repeatedly expressed his frustration with being left out of the cast and crew’s press run. He even said on First Take that he reached out to Chalamet’s father in an effort to get the actor on his podcast for an in-depth discussion about both the role and Dylan’s music.
In a later episode, Russo was irate over the fact that he wasn’t invited to the premiere. That got the attention of Chalamet, who reposted the rant on his Instagram story with the caption, “We gotta get Mad Dog a ticket to Paris or London or Rome premiere!!!!”
On Wednesday, Russo revealed that Chalamet meant what he said.
“How about yesterday?” Russo said. “I go to Cablevision. You ready, [Stephen A. Smith]? I go to Cablevision and return a box. I get a phone call from [Jeff Saturday’s agent] Jill, your agent. She says, ‘Chris, you’re not gonna believe this.’ I says, ‘What’s that?’ ‘Mr. Chalamet called Searchlight, who called us and offered you two tickets to one of those premieres next week in Europe.”
Russo then said
“Well, what I would say to you is,” Smith responded, “there’s more coming.”
