Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy was immediately skeptical of the bombshell lawsuit against Fox Sports figures Skip Bayless and Joy Taylor.
Bayless and Taylor were named as defendants in a lawsuit filed by a former hairstylist at Fox Sports. The stylist, Noushin Faraji, accused Bayless of repeatedly making sexual advances and even offering her $1.5 million for sex. Taylor is accused of being complicit in the company’s workplace environment — and allegedly telling Faraji to “get over it” — as well as engaging in multiple affairs to further her own career.
Portnoy, however, believed there was something fishy about the complaint. In a series of tweets, he explained why his “bullshit meter is on a hundred million trillion.”
“My bullshit meter is on a hundred million trillion in this Fox sports lawsuit,” Portnoy said. “Just accusing people of shit doesn’t make it facts. Time will tell. I will say I think all the accused shouldn’t listen to their lawyers [and] should loudly be defending themselves if they are innocent.”
Portnoy was also skeptical of the idea that Emmanuel Acho — with whom Taylor allegedly had an affair — would have the power at Fox Sports to get someone promoted.
“Who fucking cares if they had a consensual relationship or not?” he added. “And since when is Acho some heavyweight who gets people promoted? I honestly don’t even know why Joy Taylor is in the lawsuit? Cause she was mean to her hairdresser yet simultaneously spilled her guts to her? Makes ZERO sense.”
“Again I got no inside info on this lawsuit. I just think it stinks to high heavens and feels like a shakedown so I’d reserve judgement before burying people.”
