Fox News’ Bret Baier Marvels at Trump’s Political ‘Resurrection’ on Anniversary of January 6: ‘Never Seen Anything Like It’
Fox News’ Bret Baier marveled at President-elect Donald Trump’s political “resurrection” on Monday as Congress gathered to certify his victory in the 2024 election.
After John Roberts observed that Vice President Kamala Harris appeared to be in a “pretty good mood” despite the fact that she was set to preside over the certification of her own defeat, Baier submitted that “it’s a tough thing to do, to certify your own loss.”
“Obviously, it was a big, fought, hard fought political battle, but not really close in the end,” he continued. “And it is interesting that this day four years ago, obviously January 6th and all that happened, was a big part of the political campaign of Vice President Harris, in talking about that and threat to democracy. She put out a video last night saying it was important that this go smoothly, the transfer of power. And we don’t expect any opposition or raising of any problems with the electoral votes.”
“This is history. You know, this is a moment, if you think about from four years ago where Donald Trump was on January 6th and January 7th, not only physically, but politically. Think about the resurrection from that point, the turnaround politically, we’ve never seen anything like it,” concluded Baier. “And here we are four years later, the mahogany boxes with the electoral votes have been marched in, and they’ll go state by state and show how Donald Trump and JD Vance won this election.”
Four years ago to the day, Trump’s lies about the 2020 election inspired a riot in Washington, D.C. that saw the Capitol Building breached as Congress certified Joe Biden and Harris’s victory over Trump.
