Longtime Philadelphia sports radio host Howard Eskin reportedly left 94.1 WIP after shouting at a female employee of the station.
On Dec. 20, Eskin announced on social media that he was leaving the station after 38 years. In a Thursday report from The Philadelphia Inquirer, sources claimed his abrupt departure came after the incident.
After doing a remote broadcast at the restaurant Chickie’s & Pete’s, Eskin allegedly shouted at his station colleague. It’s unknown what led to the incident, but Eskin was out at WIP just a few days later. Audacy, the parent company of the station, announced they had “parted ways” with the longtime host.
This isn’t Eskin’s first controversial incident involving a female employee. In July, he was barred from the facilities of the 76ers and the Phillies after he was reported for trying to give an employee from Aramark — the company that operates concessions — a kiss before a Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park. The woman reportedly backed away as Eskin made the unwanted
Audacy itself made the decision to “suspend” Eskin from going to the ballpark to cover games, and the a spokesperson for the Sixers later announced that he wouldn’t be welcome at the Wells Fargo Center either.
