‘Stop!’ Amy Klobuchar Quickly Shuts Down Ted Cruz Joke That She Will Vote For ALL of Trump’s Cabinet Picks

CNBC host Joe Kernen ended Squawk Boxes’s morning interview with Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) by jokingly trying to inject some partisan bickering into the interview. The senators joined the program to discuss their bipartisan bill called the ‘Take It Down’ Act, which would criminalize using AI to create deep fake pornography using real people’s likenesses.

Kernen jumped in after co-host Andrew Ross-Sorkin asked the senators about joining together for their bill and joked enough with “this common ground stuff.”
“What about Tulsi Gabbard? I’m going to get this going,” he continued, adding:

That was Andrew all along. Senator Cruz, with those really good, those really good questions. Now, if I’m going to get in, I’m talking about [Pete] Hegseth or something to get you guys to get you guys going, I’ve had enough of it.

Cruz joked back, “She told me she’s voting for all of Trump’s nominees.”

“Stop!” replied Klobuchar, adding, “And the last time I voted for half his nominees on the Cabinet because I carefully reviewed each one and made decisions. And I just don’t think you should give a president a blank slate.”

“Well, you’re right,” Kernen replied.

“When in fact, we are supposed to have advise and consent. And no doubt that we take ourselves to protect the Constitution,” Klobuchar added.

Cruz has recently said he believes all of Trump’s nominees will be confirmed and has promised to quickly vote to confirm all the nominees that come before the committee he chairs.

The light-hearted interview ended with Cruz joking that Kernen turned the interview to say “Bah humbug” before the holidays.
