A Detroit Lions fan who was supposed to be rolling out the American flag was instead preoccupied with talking trash to Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur.

As the camera pans over, it’s reveal that the coach’s shouting match was with a fan wearing the jersey of Lions safety Brian Branch. As LaFleur approached him, a member of the team staff got between the two men. The fan, however, continued to egg on the situation by jumping up and down in LaFleur’s face.

Seconds later, multiple Packers players were huddled around the them as they tried to get the fan away from their coach. Following right behind the players was a pair of referees who finally escorted the fan away from the tense scene. He continued to yell in the direction of the players and coaches as he backpedaled away.

At the start of the video, some viewers were likely wondering why a fan was on the field. By the end, it became clear where he came from when he the refs escorted him back to a group of fans carrying the massive American flag that’s rolled out across the field before every game.
