Jim Jordan Claims ‘Trump Has Never Been About Retribution’

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said the subjects of Donald Trump’s ire do not need pardons because the president-elect is not interested in retribution.

President Joe Biden is reportedly considering pardons for individuals who may be the targets of the incoming administration. Until his election, Trump was being prosecuted by Special Counsel Jack Smith in two federal cases stemming from his retention of government documents after leaving office and his attempt to overturn the 2020 election. There is concern among some Democrats that Trump will go after Smith, his team, and others Trump has railed against. Biden has already pardoned his son Hunter Biden, who was found guilty on federal gun and tax charges.

Jordan appeared on Thursday’s edition of Kudlow on Fox Business, where he was asked about the report.

“Democrats are now asking Joe Biden for preemptive pardon of Liz Cheney, Adam Schiff, and Tony Fauci,” Larry Kudlow said. “What is this all about? Preemptive pardons for heaven’s sakes!”

“They went after some of my colleagues who they said asked for pardons,” Jordan replied, alluding to a comment from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). “This is ridiculous. Donald Trump has never been about retribution. Donald Trump has been stopping these agencies from being weaponized against we, the people, and frankly, from being weaponized against him.”

Jordan went on to rail against the federal and state prosecutions of Trump.

“It’s the weirdest thing,” Kudlow said. “Success is the best revenge.”

During a rally in Texas last year, Trump told the crowd, “I am your retribution.” Last month, the president-elect floated the idea of using the National Guard on “the enemy from within,” which includes “radical left lunatics.”
