In a post on social media on Sunday night, president-elect Donald Trump reacted negatively to President Joe Biden issuing a full and complete pardon for son Hunter Biden in a surprise announcement that Trump described as a “miscarriage of justice.”

Despite multiple and repeated assurances that he would not do so, Biden pardoned his son the Sunday after Thanksgiving, in a move many in media are speculating was the result of family discussions during the holiday.

In his announcement, Biden said the investigations and prosecutions of his son were politically motivated and a “miscarriage of justice.”

Trump, in his post on his Truth Social app, used the same words to describe the pardon. And he asked whether the pardon would extend to those who have been convicted in the January 6 riot.

“Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years?” Trump wrote.

“Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!” he added in his short statement.

The January 6 defendants were also brought up on Fox News by contributor Charlie Hurt immediately after news of the pardon broke.

Shortly after the president issued the pardon, Hunter Biden released his own statement in which he too claimed that the charges for which he was being pardoned were “exploited” in order to hurt or embarrass the Biden family.
