Whoopi Goldberg Tears Into Trump for Comments in CA About Wildfires: People Are Dying, ‘This Is Not a Joke!’
Last week Whoopi Goldberg tore into President Donald Trump for his tweet about the California wildfires. But his actual trip to California to survey the damage and what he said there set her off even more this morning.
While speaking to reporters in California, Trump said this:
“I was with the president of Finland and he said: ‘We have a much different––we’re a forest nation.’ He called it a forest nation, and they spent a lot of time on raking and cleaning and doing things. And they don’t have any problem. And when it is, it’s a very small problem.”
Goldberg patiently explained that raking isn’t going to help and noted that the president of Finland said he never actually talked to Trump about raking.
“I would like him to stop with this raking stuff,” she added.
As the co-hosts talked about how ridiculous this whole thing is, Goldberg said, “What we need him to do is shut up. I try not to be too rude, but you know what? People lost their lives, families lost their homes. This is not a joke. Raking is not funny to people in California. This is not cute… And if you don’t know this, if you really don’t know this, man, everybody needs to start rethinking what you’re saying and how you’re saying it because you sure don’t give a damn about the people in California.”
“If you’re not gonna help, stay home!” she concluded.
