Actress Anne Heche Hospitalized After Crashing Car Into Two Separate Homes, Engulfing One in Flames: Report

Actress Anne Heche reportedly crashed her car into a Los Angeles-area apartment complex Friday, left the scene, and then crashed into another home, according to a report.

The second home caught fire, as did Heche’s car, and she is currently in the hospital, TMZ reports.

The celebrity gossip outlet noted the accident occurred around 12 p.m. PT:

The crash went down just after noon in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles. Witnesses tell TMZ, she was driving a blue Mini Cooper and crashed into the garage of an apartment complex.

Residents of the apartment complex tried getting Anne out of the vehicle but she put the car in reverse and then sped off. A short time later, she crashed into a nearby home, igniting a fire. The fire was significant and engulfed the house.

TMZ also reported Heche acted erratically and suffered burns to her body.

Anne apparently suffered severe burns in the fire … you see her clothes are charred as she’s taken away on a stretcher. She’s covered in a white cloth, when she suddenly sits up on the stretcher and starts flailing wildly as they put her in the ambulance.

The outlet  speculated a bottle in Heche’s cup holder might have contained “alcohol.”

That information has not been confirmed by Mediaite or a secondary source.

Heche is no stranger to odd headlines and reported behavior. In the year 2000, after her breakup with Ellen DeGeneres, she wandered onto a property in Fresno, California.

The actress showed up at a random home and made statements that led to a brief hospitalization.

A witness said at the time, “She proceeded to tell me that she was God and was going to take everyone back to heaven with her in some sort of spaceship.”
