‘From A Jail Cell?’ Trump Lawyer Alina Habba Gets Grilled On Whether Trump Will Run ‘Even If He’s Locked Up’

Trump attorney Alina Habba was grilled in a BBC interview about whether or not former President Donald Trump will run for president “even if he’s locked up” in a “jail cell.”

Habba has been making the rounds since the jury in the Stormy Daniels hush money trial returned “guilty” verdicts on all 34 felony counts last Thursday — and Judge Juan Merchan scheduled sentencing for July 11.

That sentencing looms large, as Trump maintains a defiant public facade even as those close to him have consistently said he dreads the prospect of going to jail.

In an interview with BBC One, Habba was asked about Trump running from jail by a persistent Laura Kuenssberg, and insisted Trump would keep campaigning no matter what — even jail:

ALINA HABBA: We have seen some corruption that this country has frankly never seen before in our judicial system. It is very real. It is not posturing by any means. It is 100% a problem that this country is going to have to handle and get a grapple on in November.

Donald Trump is the victim of political selective prosecution.

LAURA KUENSSBERG: And if he fails in his appeal that you say that you are a win, that you would win and he does end up in jail, would he run for president from a jail cell?

ALINA HABBA: He is running for president. Nothing will change that.

LAURA KUENSSBERG: Even if he ends up being locked up?

ALINA HABBA: Again, I recommend you find the latest polls in this country from the people that live in this country. The people that need him in this country. Because frankly, it’s more important than anything anybody else thinks. Our people are speaking loudly. They’re donating. They’re small donors, and they’re standing up because they’re afraid. Because we cannot have this happen to us.
