‘She’s Toast’: Megyn Kelly Declares Kristi Noem’s VP Chances Dead and Mocks Her ‘Head of Hair’
Megyn Kelly laid into South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem (R) for shooting a dog and writing about the incident in her new book.
Noem abruptly canceled multiple scheduled cable news appearances on Wednesday, seemingly ending her nightmarish book tour in which she has been repeatedly asked about Cricket.
Cricket was a hunting dog that Noem maintains was a very bad dog that killed livestock and bit humans. The governor wrote that she took the pooch to a gravel pit and shot it to death. Noem, who has been floated as a potential vice presidential running mate for former President Donald Trump, decided to include Cricket’s fate in her memoir and has predictably received severe criticism.
Noem also claimed in the book that she met with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, though she is now refusing to say if that is true.
Kelly appeared on Wednesday’s Elizabeth Vargas Reports on NewsNation where Elizabeth Vargas asked about Noem’s chances of notching the GOP vice presidential nomination.
“So is she done?” Vargas asked. “Is she off the list?”
“She’s done,” Kelly replied. “She’s toast. I mean, Trump likes her because she’s been in his camp since very early on in ’16 and he likes that. But Trump – say what you will about him – is not dumb. And he knows she’s a loser and she will hurt his ticket and violate the number one rule – the only rule in picking a vice president, which is do no harm.”
Kelly noted that Trump is struggling with suburban women and that Noem’s dog story would be a political liability with them. The former Fox News host also took a shot at Noem’s physical appearance.
“How are they gonna react to this lying, dog-killing person, who, by the way, not for nothing, Elizabeth, but the weird extra oomph of the glam that she’s doing is also not helping her,” she said. “She’s got about as much truth in that head of hair as she does in that book she’s trying to sell. And I don’t think these women are going to revolt. They’re not gonna vote for her.”
