‘Astonishing Incompetence!’ Mehdi Hasan Destroys Biden and Merrick Garland for Not Putting Trump On Trial Before Election Day

Left-leaning commentator Mehdi Hasan trashed President Joe Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland for not putting former President Donald Trump on trial prior to the election.
In a post to X (formerly Twitter) late Saturday — Hasan, the former MSNBC host who now runs Zeteo News, which he founded — teed off and Biden and Garland.
“No matter who wins or loses on Tuesday, I will never not stop being mad at Joe Biden and Merrick Garland for allowing Trump to face the electorate this week without having seen the inside of a courtroom for his crimes on, and ahead of, January 6th,” Hasan said. “Astonishing incompetence, caution, cowardice, and more from the top of the Democratic Party.”
Hasan went on to argue that the caution shown by Biden and Garland — who appointed Jack Smith as special counsel in the Trump investigations in November 2022 — did nothing to deter attacks on the Justice Department from Trump.
“They’ll say it was to try and retain faith in an impartial DOJ but, even after giving Trump a pass, the Dems and the Biden DOJ are still accused of carrying out a ‘witchhunt’ against Trump and of ‘weaponizing’ the justice system against him,” Hasan wrote. “So what was gained?”
