Geraldo Rivera Praises Trump’s ‘Excellent’ Fox News Appointees: ‘I Am Delighted’

Geraldo Rivera praised President-elect Donald Trump’s decision to nominate several personalities from Fox News to serve in his next administration, Monday, claiming he was “delighted” with the choices.

Rivera – who worked at Fox News for more than 20 years, before jumping ship to NewsNation earlier this year – told occasional Fox News guest host Piers Morgan:

Many people in this proposed cabinet are, like us – you and I, Piers – veterans of Fox News, and I think that President Trump has had a wonderful relationship over the decades with Fox News, first with Roger Ailes and then with the subsequent management, and they have graduated and they are communicators and they are charismatic.

And Pete Hegseth, you know, a wonderful host on Fox & Friends Weekend edition, I sat on the couch with him many a time. Mike Huckabee, the designated ambassador to Israel, also on Fox News. Sean Duffy and his wife Rachel Campos-Duffy, a weekend host on Fox News. I am delighted with these prag– Pam Bondi, the attorney general of Florida, yes, but also a veteran [guest] of Fox News and Hannity and countless times on my Geraldo at Large program.

The former Fox News host continued, “I think that he went for pragmatic communicators. I think they’ll do a fine job, whatever you think of their underlying politics, that doesn’t interest me in this regard. I care that Major Pete Hegseth can, although he faces a steep learning curve, be an excellent defense secretary. He gets it. He’s also a wonderful, eloquent and effective veterans advocate. I think that Pam and Pete are two excellent examples.”

Rivera also praised Trump’s decision to nominate Dr. Oz Show host Mehmet Oz – who appeared frequently on Fox News during the Covid-19 pandemic and during his 2022 Senate run – for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) administrator.
