‘You’re So Dishonest, Dude!’ Piers Morgan’s Guest Goes OFF Mid-Interview — Insulting Host for Playing off Algorithms to ‘Get People to Fight’
Piers Morgan was blasted as “dishonest” on his own show when a guest grew frustrated with the host describing himself as being politically independent.
During the Wednesday episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, Morgan found himself agreeing with Fox News’ Kat Timpf when she was describing being attacked by both liberals and conservatives for not being far enough on one side or the other when it comes to subjects like former President Donald Trump.
“I completely agree, I’m a bit like that. I don’t park myself into either the right or left camp. I like to take everybody on, challenge their opinions, have good debates, have debates like today. We get people with very different views to come on and talk to each other and I would like to think —” Morgan began before another guest, journalist and activist Francesca Fiorentini, jumped in.
“Piers, you’re so dishonest, dude. You’re so dishonest though because all you do on this show is play off social media algorithms to get people to fight. You lead with it on the cold open and you get the click, click, clicks and if you don’t hit a mil[lion] you never ask that person back,” Fiorentini said.
She went on to accuse Morgan of leaning into the same sort of divisive content that he was calling out.
“Stop pretending like you think there’s something wrong and we can’t — why can’t we reach across the aisle and hold hands because your whole algorithm is based on it — your whole model is based on it,” she said.
Morgan called it a “lovely monologue” and the two began taking punches back and forth before Morgan could finish his point.
“Francesca, it’s a lovely statement that will get you lots of clicks from your followers and that’s why you’ve just delivered your little monologue. However, it’s based on a —” Morgan said as his guest laid back into him.
He eventually finished his point, noting Fiorentini has been on his show numerous times and does not get the sort of attention she was accusing him of needing out of guests.
“You don’t normally get a million views for me, but I still invite you back. So that can’t be true. I do it as an act of charity because I like you,” Morgan said.
“I’d check the sets. You know I crush, you know I crush, Piers,” Fiorentini.
Morgan said he frequently invites her on because she’s “so annoying.”
“Same,” Fiorentini said.
