Michael Moore Warns Dems Israel Support Will ‘Cost Them More Elections’: ‘What Better Way To Celebrate Losing the November 5th Election’
Michael Moore shamed Democratic lawmakers continuing to support supplying Israel with arms amid the country’s war in Gaza, warning them it will cost them “more elections” following Vice President Kamala Harris’s loss to President-elect Donald Trump.
In a Saturday Substack post, Moore applauded lawmakers who recently opposed sending arms to Israel while labeling the senators who did — including Sens. John Fetterman (D-PA) and Cory Booker (D-NJ) — of being “genocide arms dealers.”
“What better way to celebrate losing the November 5th election than by continuing to ignore the will of the American people who oppose Israel’s war on Gaza. Nothing says to the public ‘we hear you’ better than the Democratic Party announcing that ‘we’re going to kill even more children in Palestine now with your/our American tax dollars,'” Moore wrote.
More than a dozen Democratic senators voted in favor of resolutions this week that would have blocked arms being sent to Israel. The resolutions aimed to put stricter conditions on such support for Israel in light of the thousands of civilian deaths in Gaza due to Israel’s strikes in their effort to wipe out the terrorist group Hamas.
Moore has long warned Democrats that their support for Israel amid the fighting is a costly move. The filmmaker previously helped organize an effort that saw more than 100,000 people in Michigan cast protest votes against President Joe Biden in the state primary over his position on Israel.
The Fahrenheit 9/11 director called Israel a “right wing government” that is “hell bent on civilian mass starvation and death.”
“Democratic senators should know better. And their behavior in supporting this aggression will only cost them more elections,” Moore wrote. “Voters under 45 and people of color combined (making up nearly half the electorate), have no interest in war and would rather our government spend our money on our schools, our elderly, and our broken health care system. Time to cut Bibi off.”
