Fox News Shoots Down Speculation Larry Kudlow is Joining Trump Administration
Fox Business host and Trump administration alum Larry Kudlow will not be joining the second iteration of President-elect Donald Trump’s administration, despite speculation that he was in the mix to take a top economic job.
The Wall Street Journal reported that “Kudlow met late this week with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, the president-elect’s private Florida club, the people said. Trump’s advisers see Kudlow as a contender to lead the National Economic Council and possibly the Treasury Department.”
Though he provided no comment, a Bloomberg report strongly suggested that he was not interested, which appears to be confirmed by his current employer, Fox News.
A Fox News spokesperson tells Mediaite, “Larry Kudlow recently signed a new deal to continue hosting his eponymous program on FOX Business and has no plans to leave his current role helming one of the highest-rated shows on the network.”
The 77-year-old Kudlow served as National Economic Director for nearly three years under Trump, remaining in the role until the end of the president-elect’s first term in the White House and has “kept in regular touch with Trump,” according to the WSJ.
