Glitz, Glamour and Election Fraud: Sights and Sounds from the Mar-a-Lago Premiere of Dinesh D’Souza’s Loony 2020 Film

Conservative filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza has a new movie out called 2000 Mules, which claims to document the vast election fraud conspiracy that former President Donald Trump has obsessed over since he lost the 2020 election.

D’Souza is one of the principle proponents of the fantastical theory that the election was stolen from Trump, a theory that has been dismissed repeatedly by courts, Republican leadership, and the sane factions of right wing media.

It is not clear if the film is a true “documentary” as D’Souza claims, or if it’s a fictional film presented in documentary format; that is a conversation for another day.

D’Souza has produced a number of conservative and conspiracy-friendly movies, none of which has had any critical acclaim outside of his fever-dream audience of …well, I’ve said too much. Fair to say his appeal is not mainstream.

Wednesday night, a “star-studded” premiere screening of the movie was held at Trump’s Palm Beach home Mar-a-Lago, and a great number of renowned conspiracy theorists were in attendance and posted photos of themselves on social media.

Trump appeared to speak before the screening of the movie, which was attended by the likes of Matt Gaetz, Michael Flynn, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Jenna Ellis, Bernard Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, Lara Logan, Kyle Rittenhouse, Andrew Giuliani, Dan Bongino, Dave Rubin, and of course, D’Souza himself.

Ron Flipowski also posted a video from what looks like inside the ballroom before the movie was shown, and while the individual who created the video is not identified, the clip ends with a well-known QAnon slogan, because…of course, it did.
