‘I’m Willing To Put Him in Jail’: Trump Border Czar Tom Homan Warns Denver Mayor Against Resisting Deportation Efforts

President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for “border czar,” Tom Homan, warned Denver Mayor Mike Johnston that he would be “willing to put him in jail” on Monday after Johnston vowed to resist Trump’s efforts to deport illegal immigrants.

After Johnston said he was “not afraid” of going to jail for resisting Trump’s planned deportation program, Homan told Fox News host Sean Hannity, “Me and the Denver mayor, we agree on one thing. He’s willing to go to jail; I’m willing to put him in jail.”

Homan then explained that there was a statute that “says it’s a felony if you knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien from immigration authorities.”

He also noted, “It is also a felony to impede a federal law enforcement officer. So if he don’t help, that’s fine, he can get the hell out of the way, but we’re gonna go do the job.”

“President Trump has a mandate from the American people, we gotta secure this country, we gotta save American lives,” continued Homan, before adding that it was “shocking” and “hard to believe that any mayor or governor would say they don’t want public safety threats removed from their neighborhoods.”

He vowed, “I mean, I don’t know what the hell is going in Denver, but we’re gonna go in and we’re gonna fix it. If he don’t wanna fix, if he don’t wanna protect his communities, President Trump and ICE will.”

Hannity questioned, “So you will be going into Colorado, Illinois, New York, California, and you are going to uphold the law of the land? That’s your commitment, it doesn’t matter what these elected politicians threaten or say that they’re gonna do?”

“We’re gonna enforce the law, period, and they’re not gonna stop us,” Homan concluded.
