‘Picked the Wrong Vehicle’: Elon Musk Boasts Tesla Cybertruck Contained Explosion at Trump Hotel
Billionaire Trump surrogate Elon Musk boasted on Wednesday after a Tesla Cybertruck contained much of an explosion which took place outside Trump International Hotel Las Vegas on New Year’s Day.
“The evil knuckleheads picked the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack. Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards,” boasted Musk, who serves as the CEO of Tesla. “Not even the glass doors of the lobby were broken.”
Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill also cited the Cybertruck’s design as the reason the blast didn’t cause more damage on Wednesday.
“The individual that was in that truck is obviously deceased, still in the truck as we speak here today,” he said during a press conference. “You’ll see some of the evidence in the back of the vehicle. So, those are gasoline canisters, they are camp fuel canisters, and large firework mortars.”
McMahill continued, “I also would like you to pay attention to, on that video as you see that, it looks like the exterior of that truck is completely intact as it sits there. The fact that this was a Cybertruck really limited the damage that occurred inside of the valet because it had most of the blast go up through the truck and out. In fact, if you look on that video, you’ll see that the front glass doors at the Trump Hotel were not even broken by that blast, which they were parked directly in front of. You can see that in the video there.”
Authorities are currently investigating the explosion, which took place on the same day as a terrorist attack in New Orleans that left 15 dead and dozens more injured.
Both incidents took place using trucks rented through the Turo car-sharing app, however no other links have yet been reported.
