Joe Scarborough Slams Jeff Bezos For Dodging Kamala Harris Endorsement And ‘Bowing To Trump’: ‘It’s Billionaires Versus The People’
Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough took aim at newspaper-owning “billionaires” for “bowing to” former President Donald Trump by refusing to endorse Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
The Washington Post’s own journalists reported that it was the decision of billionaire owner Jeff Bezos not to run an endorsement for Vice President Kamala Harris, less than two weeks before the high-stakes election – a move which brought widespread criticism from liberals.
On Monday’s Morning Joe, co-host Sam Stein retold how Bezos had “pulled the [newspaper’s] endorsement” before Scarborough unleashed on the owner.
“The anticipatory kowtowing to a guy who is saying he is going to be an autocrat is the first step,” Scarborough began.
“Right. Washington Post,” co-host Mika Brzezinski noted.
Scarborough continued: “As billionaires are running The Washington Post, the New York Times, running X, all this peremptory bowing to Donald Trump. I have to say, this is just me; you can be upset about that, but if I’m running against that guy and those three billionaires… Whew! It is going to be a fun final nine days.”
He added: “It’s the billionaires versus us. It is the billionaires versus ‘We, the People.’ We can win. They can have their billions and buy their newspapers, but we the people can have the final word.
