Toronto Raptors Coach Accuses Refs of Blatantly Rigging Game in Fiery Rant: ‘This is Completely BS!’

Toronto Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic tore into the referees due to an eye-popping free throw discrepancy in the team’s Tuesday loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Raptors lost 132-131, and much of the conversation about the game was focused on free throws. While the Lakers shot 28 of 36 from the line, the Raptors shot just 8 of 13. What makes the difference especially noteworthy is the fact that 23 of the Lakers’ free throws came in just the fourth quarter. The Raptors, on the other hand, shot two.

Speaking after the game, Rajakovic was furious.

“That’s outrageous,” he said. “What happened tonight, this is completely BS! This is shame — shame for the referees, shame for the league to allow this. Twenty-three free throws for them and we get two free throws in the fourth quarter… I understand, respect for all-stars and all that, but we have star players in our team, as well. How is it possible that Scottie Barnes — who is an all-star-caliber player in this league — he goes every single time to the rim with force and tries to get to the rim without flopping and not trying to get foul calls, he gets two free throws for the whole game? How is that possible? How are you gonna explain that to me?”

Then, the coach suggested that the outcome of the game was determined beforehand.

“They had to win tonight?” Rajakovic said. “If that’s the case, just let us know so we don’t show up for the game. Just give them a win. That was not fair tonight; and this is not happening for the first time for us. Scottie Barnes is gonna be an all-star. He’s gonna be the face of this league. What’s happening over here during this whole season, I’ve been holding it back. It’s a complete crap!”
