Steve Kerr Mocks 2020 Election Deniers After Trump Win: ‘It’s Great That Every Election Has Been Really Valid Except for That Last One’
Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr pointed out how accusations of voter fraud mostly went away when it was clear that Donald Trump would win the election.
Early Wednesday morning, Trump was declared the winner over Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election. Kerr, who endorsed Harris, spoked about the results of the election before Wednesday night’s game against the Boston Celtics. In a video captured by SB Nation’s Noa Dalzell, Kerr said that he “believes in democracy” and wishes the best for Trump and the country.
“I believe in democracy,” Kerr said, “and I think the American people have spoken and voted for Trump and I want him to do well the next four years. I want our country to do well.
“I’m just thankful that there wasn’t any voting fraud this time. You know, the last time, I mean, all those illegal immigrants who crashed the border and raped and murdered people and then voted six times — that was unfortunate. But, thankfully, this time everything was clean; so it’s great that every election has been really valid, except for that last one four years ago. Twinkle in my eye as I say that, in case you couldn’t see it.
“But no, I believe in democracy; I believe in the will of the people; and I will do everything I can to support my country and our government and I want nothing but the best for us.”
As early voting numbers came out Tuesday, Trump said there was “massive cheating” going on in Philadelphia. Those claims went away when it became clear he was on track to win the presidency.
