Podcaster Joe Rogan revealed one of the requirements Vice President Kamala Harris’s team had for an interview between the two was no talk of “marijuana legalization.”

Rogan has spoken about his previous efforts to get Harris to do his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, saying he agreed to all of her campaign’s conditions at one point, but the talk still didn’t happen. President-elect Donald Trump made a three-plus hour appearance shortly before the election, as did his running mate JD Vance.

On Tuesday’s The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan touched on the Harris interview that never happened during a discussion about Hillary Clinton with fellow comedian Adrienne Iapalucci.

“It doesn’t matter what color you are, America does not want a woman in charge,” Iapalucci said.

“Well, that’s not exactly true because she won the popular vote,” Rogan said about Clinton.

“Not Kamala though,” Iapalucci said.

“No, but Kamala was a terrible candidate. The difference between her and Hillary is night and day,” Rogan responded, arguing Clinton never would have had a viral moment like Harris did on The View where the vice president admitted she couldn’t think of a thing she’d do differently from President Joe Biden.

Rogan added that Harris is not good at off-the-cuff conversations.

“I don’t know if she’s good at running things because you’d have to be behind the scenes to see how that works, but when it comes to talking off the top of her head, what she’s good at is a pre-rehearsed speech that she reads off a teleprompter. Pretty solid,” he said.

Iapalucci said she was surprised Harris did not do the podcast, and Rogan described somewhat “chaotic” conversations with her campaign in which it felt as though no one could make a decision.

“They had I don’t know how many conversations with my folks, but multiple conversations giving different dates, different times, different this, different that, and we knew that she was going to be in Texas, so I said, ‘open invitation,'” Rogan said, telling the campaign he could make himself available at any time.

He also revealed that one requirement for the talk was not discussing “marijuana legalization,” which he chalked up to Harris’s past as a prosecutor in California. Rogan has long been an advocate for legalized marijuana and often smokes on his podcast — even getting Elon Musk to take a hit on air once.

Harris’s views on marijuana have shifted since her time as a prosecutor. She promised federal legalization during the 2024 campaign/

“They had requirements on things she didn’t want to talk about. She didn’t want to talk about marijuana legalization, which I thought was hilarious,” Rogan said.

“Why?” Iapalucci asked.

“Because of her prosecuting record,” he said, adding, “she put a lot of people in jail for weed.”
