‘Is it an Alien Invasion?’ Charlamagne Peppers Pete Buttigieg With Questions About the Mysterious Drones
On Monday’s The Breakfast Club radio show, Charlamagne The God linked several events together as the basis for asking Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg whether the “manned SUV-sized drones flying over New Jersey” were part of an alien invasion.
“Donald Trump was on with Joe Rogan. They had a whole conversation about aliens — Not the kind they want to deport; extraterrestrial,” Charlamagne said. “Then, Clif High said 39 days after that interview, we were going to start having an alien invasion. Around December 3rd, that’s when all of these SUV-sized drones, which I’ve even seen, started getting seen over Jersey. Is it an alien invasion?”
“I mean, no disrespect to New Jersey when I say that, I think it’s very unlikely an alien invasion would begin in New Jersey,” Buttigieg quipped, causing the crew to erupt into laughter. “But, no, no! I love New Jersey! I’m just saying I don’t think that’s kind of the main point of entry that’s extraterrest — unless there’s something we don’t know about.”
The secretary then gave his take on the best place for aliens to touch down.
“I would go for someplace in the Pacific where there’s no inhabited space for a couple hundred miles so I could get my bearings before I go anywhere anyone’s going to see me,” Buttigieg said, prompting Charlamagne to ask, “What if they’re intelligent life?”
“Well, you still want to take your time. Sort of set up shop a little bit,” Buttigieg replied.
Earlier in the interview, Charlamagne asked what the secretary thought brought out the drones.
“So, we’re helping law enforcement work through it all, mainly a Homeland Security issue,” Buttigieg said, continuing:
Our job is to make sure that any restricted air space, nothing comes in there that should not be there. That includes air space over an airport. Sometimes, an area is restricted because it’s sensitive, for instance that’s close to the Trump golf club. That’s temporary flight restrictions there. Bigger picture is, we’re going to have more and more drones. Obviously, if it’s manned, that’s different. But we’re going to have more and more things entering the air space. We have to make sure that’s safe.
