Harris Spox Ian Sams Confirms on MSNBC Kamala Harris Will Not Appear on Joe Rogan’s Podcast
Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign confirmed she will not be appearing on the popular Joe Rogan Experience podcast despite preliminary discussions.
In a Thursday night appearance on MSNBC with host Chris Hayes, Harris campaign spokesperson Ian Sams said that the appearance, which had intrigued both Harris’s supporters and comedian Joe Rogan’s expansive largely young male audience, was ultimately scrapped due to scheduling issues.
As the host asked about the possiblility, Sams said: “I think that the vice president is happy to go anywhere and any place to talk to a broad segment of the country. We talked with Rogan and his team about the podcast. Unfortunately, it isn’t going to work out right now because of the scheduling of this period of the campaign.”
The spokesperson underlined that Harris had taken on other interviews, saying she was “happy to go into these places and share her message.”
The news comes one day before Trump is due to sit down with Rogan for a recording on Friday.
“Donald Trump with Joe Rogan, that’s going to be an interesting thing to watch,” Sams quipped in closing.
Rogan, known for his unfiltered style and a fan base that leans libertarian and young male, often attracts high-profile guests from across the political spectrum. It was believed that an appearance on the show would allow Harris, currently campaigning in Georgia, to reach a diverse base.
