Joe Rogan Blasts Oprah, Michelle Obama Talking Income Inequality at DNC: ‘Lady, You’re Rich as F**k!’
Joe Rogan laid into Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama for discussing income inequality at the Democratic National Convention, calling out both as part of the wealthy class they are criticizing.
“How about Oprah?” Rogan said to Mike Baker, a former CIA officer, on The Joe Rogan Experience this week when discussing the DNC. “Oprah was talking about her and Trump running together, and now she’s speaking to the DNC that he’s a threat to democracy and she’s up there talking about income inequality, like, ‘Hey lady — you’re rich as fuck!’ I’m like, ‘How is that equal?'”
Winfrey took aim at former President Donald Trump during her DNC speech where she said she’s been the victim of “racism and sexism and income inequality and division.” Trump’s campaign posted a letter from 2000 following Winfrey’s address in which the TV mogul told Trump they’d make a great “team” to run for office.
Winfrey previously addressed the letter in a CBS interview in 2023 in which she said she wrote the note to be nice because she heard Trump wanted her to be his running mate if he ran for office. She made clear she does not believe what she wrote now.
“I might have thought it back then. I might have thought it 23 years ago,” she said. “I’m not thinking it today.”
Rogan called it “nuts” that celebrities like Winfrey once embraced Trump and now argue passionately that he’s a threat to the country.
Rogan also took aim at Michelle Obama for talking up income inequality. The former first lady spoke about learning the lessons of hard work through her parents. She said both were “suspicious” of those “who took more than they needed.” Obama also accused Trump of “failing forward” and benefitting from generational wealth in a way very few do.
“Also when Michelle Obama was saying, you know, I think she was saying her mother or grandmother was always suspicious of people who took more than they needed, like, you are worth so much money. That’s so crazy. You did it on a civil servant’s salary which is insane,” the podcaster and comedian said.
