‘That’s a Double Backflip for Ya!’ CNN Anchor Mocks Trump’s Effort to Spin Govt Shutdown as ‘Biden Problem’

CNN anchor Kate Bolduan mocked President-elect Donald Trump’s effort to spin a looming government shutdown as a “Biden problem” after two spending bills failed to pass in the Republican-led House of Representatives.

A bipartisan spending bill was derailed Wednesday with Trump and billionaire ally Elon Musk instrumental to its demise after publicly putting pressure on Republicans to reject it, even threatening the political future of lawmakers in the party who backed it.

Congressional lawmakers and Vice President-elect JD Vance then spent Thursday building a new spending bill that would appease Trump’s conditions but in a late vote some House Republicans voted against it, killing that bill too and sending the government toward a shutdown.

The president-elect took to Truth Social on Friday with a bring it on demand that a shutdown happen before he takes office in January and on President Joe Biden’s watch.

If there is going to be a shutdown of the government, let it begin now, under the Biden Administration, not after January 20th, under ‘TRUMP.’ This is a Biden problem to solve, but if Republicans can help solve it, they will!

As news broke of Trump’s statement, Bolduan read the post out live on air but couldn’t quite hold back her amusement.

“Well, that’s a double backflip for ya!” she laughed.
