New House Repub Tells Audience ‘We Need a Lot More Daniel Pennys’ Because There Are ‘Far Too Many Jordan Neelys’ In This Country
Congressman-elect Brandon Gill (R-TX) on Sunday opened his remarks at the New York Young Republican Club annual gala with praise for Daniel Penny, who was found not guilty last week in the death of Jordan Neely on the New York subway. America needs “a lot more Daniel Pennys,” he said to the crowd of Young Republicans, elected officials, and MAGA media figures, “because we have far too may Jordan Neelys.”
Gill was elected in November to Texas’s 26th congressional district and will take his seat in D.C. in January. He is married to Danielle D’Souza, making conservative media figure Dinesh D’Souza his father-in-law.
The Sunday evening event featured many Donald Trump loyalists and MAGA figures as speakers, including Steve Bannon, Nigel Farage, Dan Scavino, and Corey Lewandowski. The gathering takes place days after Penny verdict.
Penny was found not guilty of criminally negligent homicide in the choke hold death of Neely, in an incident caught on video aboard a New York City subway.
Gill pened his remarks at the gala by referring to Penny as a “great patriot,” and saying that we need many more of him because there are too many of Jordan Neely out there — seemingly suggesting the former as a solution for the latter.
It’s great to be here all the way from north Texas. There we go. In the home in New York of the great Patriot, Daniel Penny. I don’t know about you all, but I think we need a lot more. Daniel. Penny’s in this country because we have far too many Jordan Neely’s. Thank you guys for for having us here.
Penny joined Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance at the Army-Navy football game in a private box, along with Speaker Mike Johnson and Trump nominee Pete Hegseth Saturday.
