Symone Sanders Criticizes John Fetterman for Calling Trump’s Cabinet Picks ‘God-Tier Level Trolling’: He’d ‘Love to Believe’ That!
MSNBC’s Symone Sanders-Townsend knocked Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) for calling President-elect Donald Trump’s nominations so far “God tier level trolling” on Thursday.
Sanders-Townsend, a former advisor to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, responded to Fetterman’s comment on Thursday during a discussion with MSNBC anchor José Díaz-Balart in which she warned Democrats that nominations like Matt Gaetz for Attorney General and Fox News’ Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense are far more ominous than any troll could be.
Sanders-Townsend argued:
I think the senator [Fetterman] should get onboard with the new world Washington, D.C. order. I think they’d love to believe this is just trolling. You know, there are a lot of theories out there floating around that Matt Gaetz isn’t Donald Trump’s real pick, he has another pick, and this is just to gather everyone’s attention, but why would we believe that? Donald Trump has been very clear. He wants retribution. He said, I will be the retribution for the people. That’s what he said repeatedly on the campaign trail. He’s said that — he talked about the deep state. He talked about the weaponization of government throughout his time on the campaign trail. So now the president-elect is making good on his promises.”
She warned Fetterman and others that what they think is a trolling joke is “happening.”
“I mean, I would describe it as God-tier level trolling to just trigger a full-on China syndrome to own the libs in perpetuity,” Fetterman told reporters on Capitol Hill on Wednesday.
“I think what Sen. Fetterman and others have said, other senators, Democratic senators, and even folks like Murkowski, Lisa Murkowski, who said this is unbelievable, this is not serious, it’s very serious. It’s happening,” she said.
Sanders-Townsend argued Trump’s picks will be much easier to get through if Republican lawmakers back his plan for “recess appointments,” which give the president power to temporarily bypass Congress to appoint nominees.
“I know people love to believe this is like high-level 3D chess game, this is what Donald Trump wants. I am going to hold America’s hand when I say, get ready, folks, okay?” she said. “I don’t think there is any high-level trolling, any games going on here. This is the new Washington, DC.. world order and I am wondering how Democrats and Republicans are going to react to it.”
