John Fetterman Trashes Green Party Voters in His Own State: ‘Dipsh*ts’ Who Helped ‘Elect the GOP’
As part of the Democrats’ ongoing blame game in the aftermath of their loss to Donald Trump, Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) took aim at his own constituents.
Following Vice President Kamala Harris’s stunning defeat to Trump in the presidential election, members of the Democratic Party have begun searching for answers to figure out what exactly went wrong. This has led to a great deal of mud slinging — particularly between allies of Harris and President Joe Biden.
Fingers have also been pointed at third-party voters, who some Democrats believe are responsible for taking votes away from the vice president. According to a tweet posted Thursday, Fetterman counts himself among this camp.
“Pennsylvania is going to count every last vote,” Fetterman said Thursday evening. “That’s not controversial — that’s the law.
“Also, Green dipshits’ votes helping elect the GOP.”
Included in the tweet was a screenshot of the results of Pennsylvania’s senate race. Republican Dave McCormick beat incumbent Democrat Bob Casey to flip a seat for the GOP. With 98% of votes reported at the time of writing, McCormick won the race by just 35,000 votes. Green Party candidate Leila Hazou, meanwhile, earned approximately 64,000 votes — or 0.9% of the total.
Although Fetterman chose to single out Hazou, her vote tally wasn’t even the most impactful of the state’s third-party candidates. John Thomas of the Libertarian Party secured more than 87,000 votes.
