Former President Donald Trump tore into Fox News contributors Marc Thiessen and Karl Rove on Tuesday after Thiessen noted on air that the only person “less popular” than Joe Biden is Donald Trump.
Thiessen cast doubt on Trump’s electability in a discussion with Fox anchor Martha MacCallum. He argued that while Biden “is the most unpopular president in history,” he still could beat Trump.
“If you think he can’t win. I got two words for you, Senator Fetterman. I mean, the voters have said that if they don’t like the GOP alternative, they will vote for a guy who just had a stroke, who had a debate where he couldn’t put a coherent sentence together. And Donald Trump is, the only person who’s less popular than Joe Biden is Donald Trump. A lot of people don’t want this choice. And so it could go either way,” Thiessen argued.
“How many times is FoxNews going to put on RINO Bush apologist Marc Thiessen. He was wrong about me in 2016, and in 2020 I got more votes than any sitting President in history, but the Election was RIGGED,” Trump raged, again repeating his widely debunked claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.
“My record on Endorsements is unmatched by anyone, EVER! Put on people who understand what is going on in politics…And while you’re at it, GET RID OF KARL ROVE!!!” Trump added.
Notably, Rove is the last Republican presidential campaign manager to win the popular vote with President George W. Bush’s 2004 reelection. Trump, on the other hand, lost the popular vote by some 3 million votes in 2016 and 7 million votes in 2020.
Trump has long demanded absolute loyalty from pundits and journalists working in conservative media and publicly attacks those who criticize him, including former members of his administration like Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany.
