Norah O’Donnell to Step Down From CBS Evening News

CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell is set to step down as the host of CBS Evening News after the 2024 election.

A source confirmed to Mediaite that O’Donnell is relinquishing her role as the anchor and managing editor of the network’s nightly news broadcast, a position she’s held since 2019. Puck’s Dylan Byers was first to report the news, which he obtained through an interview with O’Donnell, who scored a series of major interviews with world leaders from her perch at CBS but languished in third place in the ratings, behind the flagship programs from NBC News and ABC News.

O’Donnell will stay on with CBS as a special correspondent contributing to its programs, including 60 Minutes, after exiting the nightly news show.

This story is breaking and will be updated.
