Melania Trump Hesitates Answering Ainsley Earhardt Asking if She Fell in Love With Trump: ‘It Was a Connection’

Former First Lady Melania Trump paused when asked if she fell in love with former President Donald Trump after their first date opting, instead, to call it a “connection” when pressed for details on their relationship during an interview with Fox & Friends.

Melania Trump was interviewed by host Ainsley Earhardt about her new memoir Melania when the host began to delve into different sections of the book.

At one point, she pressed the former First Lady on how she met her husband at the Kit Kat Club, recounting how she refused to give him her number at first.

The host began to push for more details around their first date: “You get in the car and he drives you to Bedford and outside of the city, what an hour outside of the city? And he wanted to show you a business or some property that he had. So he was combining business with taking you on a first date.”

Melania replied: “And it was very nice because we were two of us, alone in the car for hour, hour and a half, and no other noise, no other people, because at that time he was already known and a celebrity. So it was really nice to be just the two of us.”

“Did you fall in love then?” Earhardt asked.

Pausing for a moment, Melania replied: “It was a connection. It was a connection.”

Moving on, Earhardt asked about their wedding day: “You got married at Bethesda-by-the-Sea, a beautiful church down in Palm Beach. And then the reception at Mar-a-Lago. What was that day like for you and your family and your mom?”

Melania responded: “It was an exciting day, a busy, busy day. As every bride you want to make sure everything goes smoothly. And it went. We had a good day.”
