Undecided Voter Tells CNN He’s Voting for Kamala Harris After Watching Vance’s Remarks About 2020 Election in CBS Debate

An undecided voter told CNN on Tuesday he would be voting for Kamala Harris after hearing JD Vance’s answer on whether he would accept the results of the 2024 election if former President Donald Trump loses.

All seven of you came in undecided. One of you said they’d made up their mind,” said CNN correspondent Phil Mattingly to a group of undecided voters following Tuesday’s CBS vice presidential debate. “Ryan, who are you gonna vote for, and what kind of solidified that opinion?”

The formerly undecided voter replied, “Well, I’m gonna be voting for Kamala Harris. You know, one of the stark sort of aspects of that debate that really stuck with me was when they were talking about January 6 and how Mike Pence certified the election, and they were wondering if JD Vance would certify the election should Trump lose, and you know, JD Vance didn’t really give us a definitive answer.”

He concluded, “I’m disappointed in that fact, and I don’t think that I can trust someone, you know, with my vote if they’re not gonna respect it.”

During the debate, moderator Norah O’Donnell said to Vance, “You have said you would not have certified the last presidential election and would have asked the states to submit alternative electors. That’s been called unconstitutional and illegal. Would you again seek to challenge this year’s election results, even if every governor certifies the results?”

Vance refused to answer the question and instead accused the Biden administration of censoring critics.

After Walz asked Vance, “Did he [Trump] lose the 2020 election?” Vance again refused to answer, prompting Walz to declare, “That is a damning non-answer.”
