Bill Maher Tells Dems To Fix ‘Insanity of the Far Left’ Because Trumpism ‘Won’t Go Away’ Even with Trump Loss
Bill Maher is sticking by his prediction that Vice President Kamala Harris will defeat former President Donald Trump in November, but the comedian warned Democrats that the “insanity of the far left” will continue to birth Trump clones and Trumpism is here to stay.
Maher first predicted a Harris win on his Real Time show on Friday, and he doubled down on that in a Club Random podcast episode with Jordan Peterson released on Sunday, saying he’d put his money on Harris if he were betting.
Trump, Maher predicted, will “go away” after this election, having reached his “Joe McCarthy stage.”
“I also understand that Trump, I think, will go away after this. I think he’s kind of finally reached his Joe McCarthy stage where people are tired of it. It just took longer, but Trumpism won’t go away,” the comedian said.
He argued that the “far-left” will always seem worse to Trump supporters when measured against a candidate like Trump or one who models themselves after the former president. This, Maher added, is “not completely unjustified.”
“I would define Trumpism as a fear of the insanity of the far left, which is not completely unjustified, and therefore, anyone is better than that. Trump proves it because he is that ‘anyone.’ If Trump is okay, if he, in all his monstrosity, is still better than what you fear with the left, that’s a problem the left has to deal with,” he said.
Maher, who often rails against liberals who are “woke,” pointed to far left “insanity” being most prevalent in modern academia, especially in the ongoing debates happening on college campuses over the Israel-Hamas war, as well as gender and race-related debates. Unless Democrats address the extremes in their parties, Maher said, there will always be another Trump.
The comedian told Democrats to “signal” to the middle of the country they are not as “crazy” as the “super crazies on the far left.”
“They will find another Trump,” Maher said, adding, “Until you take care of that problem they will always come up with a Trump.”
