Controversial streamer Tim Pool appeared to endorse RFK Jr. for president on Friday and after a deluge of MAGA-world backlash quickly claimed he was just trolling his audience – as he is known to do.

“Ok I’m voting for RFK Jr now,” wrote Pool on X, which resulted in RFK Jr. replying, “I am so grateful to you, Tim, for your confidence in me but most of all for your steadfast defense of the Constitution and relentless love for our country.”

Pool’s remark came a day after popular podcaster Joe Rogan said he is supporting the independent, vaccine-skeptical candidate, arguing that RFK Jr. is “the only one that makes sense to me.”

Pool has long been a controversial figure online, having begun as a far-left activist and moved to the populist right. He’s best known for his YouTube show, a forum where he has hosted avowed Neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes and blamed mass shootings on “multiculturism.” Pool commands a large audience and has recently played host to GOP presidential candidates like Vivek Ramaswamy.

After RFK Jr. thanked Pool and MAGA influencers went on the attack, Pool posted:

Oof, I really stepped in it this time

Hahaha

Holy crap

I’m voting for Trump

Wtf

Pool later claimed he was just joking all along and added, “Yes I am trolling in response to people attacking Joe Rogan and Kyle Rittenhouse.” He added:

There’s no real argument against voting Trump but fuck me some of these die hard magas are as destructive as the leftists
