Kari Lake, the failed 2022 GOP candidate for governor of Arizona and 2024 senate candidate, challenged President Joe Biden to arrest Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Thursday as part of their ongoing border spat.

On Wednesday, Abbott vowed to defy a Supreme Court ruling ordering the state to turn back over control of a specific section of the border to the federal government. In a statement, Abbott raged that the conservative majority court decision highlighted that Biden had “broken the compact between the United States and the States” and that he had the right to defend Texas from an “invasion.”

“I was down at the border and within five minutes of arriving and stepping out of the vehicle, people were walking over under Joe Biden’s policy,” declared Lake while on Tim Pool’s internet show.

“We had, President Trump’s policy, the remain in Mexico policy, was the best border policy I’ve ever seen in my 27 years covering Arizona,” added Lake referring to her decades as a news anchor.

“It worked and Joe Biden came in on day one and pulled that. And now we’re seeing a crisis. We need to build the wall,” she continued, adding:

First of all, we need to sue the federal government for failing to protect us. And while that lawsuit is working its way through the system, let’s go down and start building the wall. We have many, many miles of Arizona State land we could be building it on.

And let’s let’s finish these little gaps. They’re coming through a funnel where there’s a gap in the president’s wall, and it is on federal land. But let’s build the wall anyway, what’s Joe Biden going to do? Arrest a sitting governor? I mean, honestly, but we have to.

“Do you think he would?” asked one of the show’s hosts.

“I would welcome that challenge,” Lake answered.

“We are not that far away,” answered another host on the show, which regularly hypes a coming civil war in the U.S.

“And I would welcome that challenge because he’s failing at his duty. The federal government is failing us in Arizona,” Lake added.
