President Joe Biden was repeatedly heckled by protesters during his New York City fundraiser with former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton on Thursday.
As Biden spoke about the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot, a protester in the audience stood up and shouted, “Shame on you, Joe Biden! Shame on you! Shame on you! You are pushing genocide in Palestine and no amount of false concern–”
The protester was then forcibly escorted out of the venue as she continued to scream, “There’s blood on your hands!”
At another point during the fundraiser, a separate protester held up the Palestinian flag and shouted, “Palestinians are dying right now because of your actions!”
As the protester was forcibly dragged out by security, a man recording the incident shouted, “Shame! Stop brutalizing him. Stop brutalizing him.”
According to New York Magazine features writer Shawn McCreesh, the event was interrupted by protesters at least four times throughout the evening.
Biden’s fundraiser also attracted a large group of protesters outside the venue, who waved Palestinian flags, held signs calling for an end to US aid to Israel, and chanted, “Down with the USA!”
Biden’s fundraiser New York’s Radio City Music Hall on Thursday raised $25 million and featured appearances from Late Show host Stephen Colbert, “body positivity” singer Lizzo, and actress Mindy Kaling.
President Biden received criticism from conservatives over his decision to continue with the fundraiser following the murder of 31-year-old NYPD officer Jonathan Diller on Monday.
“There are scores of NYPD officers unable to pay respects to their fallen brother tonight because they’re working security in the rain for Joe Biden’s $25 million fundraiser,” tweeted Spectator contributing editor Chadwick Moore.
Former President Donald Trump attended Diller’s wake on Thursday and told Fox News that Biden “didn’t even call the family.”
