WATCH: Trump Fan Busted for Assault Charge At Polls Gets Ankle Monitor And $55,006 Bail

Trump supporter Caleb Williams was given a GPS monitor and freed on $55,006.00 bail after he was charged with aggravated assault for waving a machete at women in a polling area.

Williams was arrested Tuesday after Williams and others waving Trump flags reportedly approached two women supporting Vice President Kamala Harris at a polling place in a library in Jacksonville, Florida and harassed them.

Neptune Beach Police Chief Michael Key read the charges and described the incident at a press conference Tuesday. Williams was charged with aggravated assault and improper exhibition of a firearm or dangerous weapon — in this case, a machete:

Today at 4 p.m., our patrol officers responded to an armed person with a machete call at the Beaches Branch Library, which serves as an early voting precinct at the beach.

The units arrived and found eight young males, seven of which were juveniles and one adult male, inside the parking lot of the polling location.

The investigation revealed that the group arrived to protest and antagonize the opposing political side. The group that approached sign wavers along State Road, A1A escalated into a verbal disturbance.

That then escalated to the point where the sole adult male of the group, Caleb James Williams, he’s 18 years of age of Neptune Beach, brandished a machete in an aggressive, threatening posture over his head.

We have a picture of that that will disperse to the media as well.

Mr. Williams decided to brandish that machete over his head at two female victims, ages 71 and 54 years of age, which were in fear, and at that point had called the police. And we arrived less than one minute later.

Mr. Williams was arrested for aggravated assault on person 65 years of age or older and improper exhibition of a firearm or dangerous weapon.

During a court appearance on Wednesday, Williams stood silently as Judge Mose Floyd imposed $50,003.00 bail for the first count and $5,003,00 for the second — and ordered a monitor to make sure he didn’t go near any polling places. From First Coast News:

As for Williams, in his court appearance Wednesday, Judge Mose Floyd said if the teen was to be released on bond, he will be “outfitted with a GPS monitor, not to go within a thousand feet of a polling place… unless it is for the specific purpose of you’re casting a vote.” Floyd then set Williams’ bond on count one (the aggravated assault charge) at $50,003 and bond on count two (the improper exhibition of a firearm or dangerous weapon charge) at $5,003.

Williams is due back in Duval County court on Nov. 20.

First Coast notes that “The Duval County Democratic Party, aka Duval Dems, released a statement Tuesday, saying the group of young men was carrying Trump flags, and the victims were holding Harris-Walz signs.”
