The Young Turks’ Ana Kasparian called California’s Gavin Newsom the worst governor in the country on Tuesday.
Kasparian’s declaration came after Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of X and close ally of President-elect Donald Trump shared a post from another user that included pictures of Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, New York Governor Kathy Hochul, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and Newsom — all of whom are Democrats — and asked “Who is the worst governor in the United States.”
“Tough call,” mused Musk.
Kasparian had no such struggles with her deliberative process, replying definitively “Newsom. By A LOT.”
Despite her progressive politics and employer, Kasparian has denounced the left in strong terms in recent days. In one interview from earlier this year, she issued a warning about “the failed policies” of California being exported to the rest of the country.

And in another moment on her own show, she blasted California’s climate policies.
“The way that it happens is, I know that in California, at least with the phasing out of gas powered cars, and they’ll probably do the same thing with gas stoves, is they just ban the sale of any new gas powered cars or any new gas stoves,” she said. “Don’t tell me this bullshit about how I have to buy like some new fucking thing cause the government’s forcing me to do it. And then like after I file my taxes, there’s a certain portion of that purchase that might be tax deductible. Like, fuck off! I’m so sick of it. It’s just like endless pressure, pressure, pressure, pressure.”
Last year, Kasparian submitted that “California is *without question* a shit show under Newsom.”
“But I guess propping up proven failures is what the Democratic party excels at these days,” she added.
