Bill Barr Voices Horror About Trump-Biden Rematch in Fox News Interview: It’s ‘Russian Roulette’ Vs. ‘National Suicide’
Former Attorney General Bill Barr will be supporting Donald Trump in November despite describing him as playing “Russian roulette.”
In a Wednesday interview on America’s Newsroom mainly focused on the fentanyl crisis, co-anchor Bill Hemmer directly asked Barr where his support would lie in the 2024 presidential election. Barr and Trump have had their fair share of disagreements.
“I’ve said all along given two bad choices, I think it’s my duty to pick the person I think would do the least harm to the country and in my mind that’s — I will vote the Republican ticket. I will support the Republican ticket,” Barr said.
The former attorney general described the choice between President Joe Biden and Trump as “Russian roulette” versus “national suicide.”
“I think the real danger to the country, the real danger to democracy, as I say, is the progressive agenda and I’ve said Trump may be playing Russian roulette, but continuation of the Biden administration is national suicide in my opinion,” he said.
Barr did defend Trump on the matter of his Manhattan trial where he’s facing more than 30 counts over allegedly falsifying business records. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has accused the former president of hiding a hush money payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to cover up an alleged affair. Trump has denied any wrongdoing.
Barr called the case an “abomination.”
“It’s obviously political, seven years after he pays hush money to try and come up with this case,” he said.
