Fox Correspondent Incorrectly Claims Kamala Harris Hasn’t Commented Publicly About Israeli-Hamas War
Fox Business correspondent Grady Trimble was reporting on Vice President Kamala Harris’ tour of American college campuses, where several pro-Palestinian (and some anti-Israel) protests have taken place. But Trimble made a claim that was easily proven false: that Harris has not commented publicly about the Israel-Hamas War.
On Fox News’ America’s Newsroom with co-host Bill Hemmer, Trimble said that Harris had not made any comments about the conflict during any of her campus appearances, despite having an opportunity to issue such a comment on social media:
Hemmer: Grady, before I let you go here, it’s day 11 now, going back to October 7th when Hamas crossed that border. Has she stopped at a college since then that you know of?
Trimble: I would have to go back and check the schedule. I believe so. But in those speeches, she’s focused on what they call “freedom,” so they focused on reproductive rights, LGBT issues, never really specifically addressing these attacks. And of course, Bill, with social media, there’s ample opportunity to address them. Even if she hasn’t been on a college campus since the attack, and we have not heard that from the vice president.
Hemmer: Her boss is going to be in Israel tomorrow. I would imagine she’d talk about it in some degree.
Harris did address Hamas’s attack on Israel on her official Twitter/X account on October 11:

Part of her comments:
I’m completely outraged by what has taken place. We are looking at extreme acts of terrorism that must be condemned in no uncertain terms. There is absolutely no justification for terrorism. The President and I take very seriously our commitment to Israel and to the people of Israel to support them, and in particular, to give Israel what it needs to defend itself.
One of our highest priorities of course is the safety and wellbeing of American citizens, and that will continue to be one of our highest priorities. It is also critically important that as we have been, we will stay in constant communication and contact with our allies, with our Israeli partners, with members of Congress as we have been doing these last few days.
A Fox spokesperson noted, however, that Trimble’s comments referred specifically to Harris addressing pro-Palestinian protests on campus, and his reference to “these attacks” was meant in that context and not Hamas’s attack on Israel.
