Al Gore Reveals He Believed Trump Would Buy Into His Climate Hysteria

Former Vice President and climate change alarmist Al Gore appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday night to promote his new film, An Inconvenient Sequel, which will apparently explain why his first film, An Inconvenient Truth, was completely wrong.

Gore expressed disappointment in President Trump, who he had hoped would “come to his senses” regarding climate change after the two met in Trump’s New York office following the 2016 election.

“I went to Trump Tower after the election,” said Gore. “I thought that there was a chance he would come to his senses. But I was wrong.”

Al Gore cannot seem to understand how a pragmatic businessman would reject the concept of a largely symbolic agreement that could only hurt the interests of the people he was elected to represent while doing nothing to help the cause it purports to advance.

Gore lamented Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement, but expressed some optimism because other countries “doubled down” on their commitment and leaders within the U.S. have agreed to fight alleged man-made climate change despite “what Donald Trump tweets.”

“A lot of our most important governors and mayors and business leaders said, ‘We’re still in the Paris agreement, and we’re going to meet the commitments of the country,” said Gore.

Colbert eventually asks Gore if there is any hope to save the planet.

“Go see the movie and you’ll see there is tremendous hope,” Gore replies.

Gore did not mention whether he rode his bicycle to the Late Show studios or took a private jet and a convoy of SUVs.
